![]() These "poor man's" rental companies want to 'hold all the cards' but then when they provide you 'sucky' service - oh well. Perhaps because that area is a heavy public transportation use area, they think everyone's desperate for a car and will tolerate 'flaky' service. iDrive, InstaM, all these HyreCar Spp" companies, all service their cars out of the same roof on Reisterstown Road by the Plaza. iDrive is better off going into business for himself and thus more likely to operate in integrity - ALL the time. But like they say, "if you lay down with dogs you'll get fleas". After that 'debacle' I'd maybe rate iDrive 6 out of 10. Prior to the incident where he left me stranded in a vehicle that wouldn't start at 10pm, I would have rated iDrive a 9 out of 10 stars! He was at first very professional and patient. The iDrive guy initially was really cool. Appropriately named - "iDrive" - because I drive right off their lot, never to rent from them again. They said it had an alternator problem yet somehow 'passed' inspection. And apparently the only psychological help I needed was to find out why I was stupid enough to pay iDrive over $2,000 at $57.75 a day for a day-to-day rental of a 2012 Dodge Caliber with rusty brakes, grindy windows, and poor acceleration - and they don't even make this model anymore. Never let a $50 fix turn into a $5,000 headache because of your pride. If this business provided the "high maintenance" of it's own vehicles, they wouldn't be here on BBB right now. ![]() High "expectations" are what I have - not "high maintenance" - for my hard earned money. They got off very cheap not paying for a battery or if harm had come to my person as a result of being stranded in a strange area. "Extortion" is an unusual definition for a business required to give a refund for poor service. I submitted a Separate request for my out of pocket Uber ride home, which I received. The refund only came after I had to ask for it. A 5 minute delivery became a 4 hour ordeal! iDrive of Baltimore never offered to pay for an **** to get me home, nor was he willing to have someone bring me a spare rental car.I would not rent from iDrive ever again. I had to come out of my pocket to spend over $40 to catch an **** safely home - fortunately I had the money. Even though the *** driver clearly said he had spare new batteries on his truck! So at 11pm, I unfortunately had no one close by to get me home. But the owner, Josh, was not willing to spend the $179-199 for *** to immediately replace the battery to get me home safely. I was told iDrive's rental coverage did not cover a replacement battery. Each time it started and ran for less than a minute - then the engine cut off! The *** guy told me the battery was bad and needed to be replaced. *** jump started my rental car at least 5 times. I came back literally 5 minutes later and the car did not start. I parked, turned the engine off & left my hazards on. I had no way to get home because the rental would not start! I was doing a food delivery to an apartment complex around 7:30pm. ![]() On 8/3/22 however, the car did not start and the owner left me 'high and dry' at 11:00 at night - 30 minutes from my home. ![]() I've spent over $2,500 on his rental, renewing my rental daily or weekly in order to continue to make income from driving for ****/**** Eats/food deliveries. I was starting my new gig as an **** driver. His vehicles were posted for rent on the popular "*******" app. I rented a vehicle from owner Josh of iDrive out of Baltimore from mid June to August 3, 2022.
